Cameras
Most of the videos that you make can be done on your mobile phone. However, you may want to start vlogging at your desk or getting out and about doing some action shots.
The cameras bellow will help you get good quality imagery for your videos.
This is a great little webcam with excellent quality and easy to use. We have this model ourselves and use it for both online meetings and recording with OBS Studio.
There isn't much difference between the C920 and the C920s but this model comes with a privacy cover.

GoPros are great cameras for action shots and time lapse videos. Even though the 9 isn't the latest model its perfectly adequate for creating videos.
Stabilisation
Stabilisation is essential for your productions after all who likes to watch shaky footage? A decent weighted tripod is needed that will support your camera, supress any shake and be fully adjustable. The most important factor is to get one that extends to greater than 150cms.
Other equipment such as gimbals and selfie sticks may have a place in your business for creating more exciting videos or filming at events.

This is an entry level tripod and ideal for static shots. However for more elaborate footage with panning etc. you do want to consider a better model of tripod.

If you are looking to use your tablet or iPad to film your videos then you will need a bigger clamp like this to attach it to the tripod.

Selfie sticks are ok for when you are out and about and are great to carry with you for that impromptu video like a testimonial from a client but you can get some shake.

Audio
Audio is as important as the visuals. The best way to obtain clear audio for your productions is to invest in a good quality Lavalier (tie clip) mic. This mic is wired and plugs directly into the phone via the adapter giving excellent results.
Depending on the type of phone you have will determine the type of mic that you will need. Here is a brief explanation of the different types of connectors.
Standard 3.5mm audio jack
This is the standard audio jack and fits into cameras such as the DSLR and also some older model phones.
USB Type C Connector
Typically Android phones. The easiest thing to do is check your charger and see what that is as the mic will use the same port.
Lightening Port
This is typically only relevant to Apple products such as the iPhone and iPad.
However, in Europe the USB Type C will be the universal connector for phones from 2024.
Microphones

Used in conjunction with OBS you can record and 'Live Edit' videos instantly.
A fantastic and inexpensive product which is well worth investing in.
Fotor is a really easy to use graphics editor. Similar to Canva it gives you the ability to create some really good artwork such as Thumbnails for your videos, channel art and more.
Free to use with limitations but cheaper than Canva if you wanted to purchase.
This is a fantastic and easy to use whiteboard animation tool that will help you create simple animations.
You can create the animations and then add your voice over to complete your videos.
OBS Studio is a FREE video streaming and capture platform that lets you create scenes that you can live edit as you can record using your webcam.
