Gareth James

about_03Gareth is equally at home in front of the camera as he is behind it – as his interest in film production stems from performing. He’s appeared on stage and screen for 12 years – with parts in popular soaps like Coronation Street and Emmerdale, as well as appearing in major productions like ‘The King’s Speech’ and recently ‘The Great Train Robbery’ as Jock, driver to Jim Broadbent’s Chief Inspector Tommy Butler.

Then, like many of the Hollywood greats before him, Gareth found that he really enjoyed getting embroiled in the whole production process! This inspired him to go into video making and then to set up Clockwork Eye with Mick. His business acumen blended with that love of film production makes an Oscar-winning combination.

Gareth is responsible for the pre-production and administrative side of things. He loves creating clients’ scripts and thrives on researching trends and techniques in the video marketing world. His imaginative approach has enabled Clockwork Eye to come up with concepts promoting a broad range of subjects from polythene bags to HR services.

Gareth has stage-managed the filming of big events like The Keighley Business Awards and The Keighley Christmas Light Switch On, featuring X Factor star Kye Sones.

He’s the guy who looks after all the client’s needs from concept to handover, helping to fix up filming days and locations. If the client isn’t comfortable in the starring role – Gareth will happily cast presenters, actors or voice-over artists. On filming days you’ll find him keeping the show on the road, managing the backdrops, action, props and continuity.
